Meet Dobreena

SENIOR MISS BLACK AMERICA 2026–2028 · SPEAKER · ACTRESS · ARTIST · ADVOCATE

My Journey

From winning national titles to inspiring audiences, my path has been shaped by resilience, grace, and a passion for uplifting others.

Born January 5, 1955 in Charleston, SC and raised in New York, I graduated from Pratt Institute in 1981. I’ve spent decades as a working actress across film and theatre — most recently as Thelma in the Off-Broadway production of The Funeral.

In 2026, I made history as Senior Miss Black America 2026-2028 at the age of 71 — representing New Jersey and appearing twice on Times Square billboards.

Every story I share is rooted in real experience and heartfelt growth.

Harlem Week 2026

Senior Miss Black America 2026–2028 · Speaker · Actress · Artist · Advocate

As a speaker and senior advocate, I draw on lived experience to inspire students and seniors to recognize their worth, build confidence, and live with purpose.

My message: it is never too early — or too late — to grow.

Show up. Stay present. Keep serving.

I live by those words. From the classroom to the community stage, from my sewing table to the world stage as Senior Miss Black America, I have learned that presence is power.

I am a Capricorn, a world traveler, a poet, a painter, a seamstress — and proof that legacy is built, not given. I stitch stories, I paint purpose, I write what I have lived.

My mission is simple: to remind every woman, young and seasoned, that her crown still fits and her next chapter is still waiting to be written.

Soul Stanza – Original Poetry

Something©

Something came over me like a cover on a bed…
It wasn’t anything I did, but surely it was something I said,
To him… To make the conversation continue on its vocal cord…

Far from looking for words to say…
He doesn’t know it, but he’ll never be bored, with me….
With my fruitful tongue and my fancy style…

It only takes a few minutes to figure out,
Whether to pick up the phone and dial, me…
To see how I’m doing and whether I’m holding it down and on point…

He said, “Let’s go out and have dinner,” and I said,
“I hope the chef won’t disappoint…”
Our extraordinary, culinary delectable delights, cause

I felt the spark, I felt the flame ignite
I felt the connection when our souls took flight…
Cause, no matter how it goes down, we’re gonna be together after tonight…

His eyes locked with mine, and I saw his desire…
A hunger for more, a love that’s on fire…

The room faded away, leaving only us two…
In a space of our own, where love came right on through…

Besides, we’re not new at this dating thing, its not different, however, its extremely fresh…

He said, “Why don’t you bend over, and kiss my lips…
And smell the aroma of my sweet, warm breath…”
